Snapback hats have come roaring back into popularity. There are now many different factors to consider before adding new additions to your hat collection.

Snapback hats were all the rage long before the invention of fitted hats. Today, these hats are making a strong comeback. As with most popular clothing or accessory product, there are several different types to choose from.

Solid Material Varieties

Many of the recent snapback hat releases are made of 100% wool. These are great choices for those that live in cooler climates, but may not be the best choice for those that live in warmer areas. This is because they provide lots of warmth, and very little air circulation.

Material & Mesh Combinations

These types feature a solid material front that transitions into a mesh back. Mesh does allow for plenty of air circulation, and is a nice choice on hot days. Mesh is actually quite durable, and is hard to damage.

Color Choices

These hats are available in nearly every color. There are a few recent updates to note, one being the invention of the "sand blasted" materials. This process takes a solid color and turns it into a more worn and faded look.

There are also a number of two-tone options available. These typically feature a bill that is one color, and hat body that is another. The ventilation holes and top button may, or may not match the color of the bill.

Different Types of Bills

There are two choices where hat bills are concerned: straight and bent. The straight bill has only become popular over the past few years.

Many people still prefer the bent look. There was a time when much work had to be done in order to get your hat bill to be bent. Today, this task is done for you.

Different Types of Fit

Though snapback hats are labeled as "one size fits all", there are some differences in how they fit. There is a slouch style that allows for a softer fit. The slouch style conforms well to the top of the head.

The high fit is more rigid, and is not meant to conform to the head. Instead, the front and back of this hat are made to sit off the head somewhat, and stay completely upright.

Style Choices

Vintage, retro, and modern styles are all represented. Each appeals to a different group of people, and making this choice will simply be a matter of opinion.

There will also be the choice between a clean design, or a worn and torn look. These tattered choices have been popular for a while, and have found a solid following amongst teens and young adults.

Prices

The price of each varies. However, the prices are similar to that of fitted hats. Since there is no need to measure your head, or know your hat size, snapback hats are easy to purchased based only on what appeals to you on a personal level.
